However, I have noticed that Latino propaganda for Latinos in this country (lets say for Spanish clubs), also use the same tactics..., we also have to stop doing that if we want it to stop.

I'm west indian and every labour day my mother laments the photos of half naked women in the streets the press use to capture our culture. (Not referring to the revellers in costume, that's expected).
That said, west indians promote this idea as well, so can't blame the outsiders anymore. Have to look within.
The duality of our existence as POCs - my progressive, well-educated/thinking, diverse FOCK-like planet I live on, the amazing world of Obama, Susan Rice, Sotomayor & Van Jones as the new "man"/wo"man", my smart confident black/brown kids who love their gumbo-like existence & then this sh*t.
I just can't put it altogether some days. My zen 10 y/o son puts it best. "Oh, Mommy. Don't get mad - those people just act like that because they are sad that they're kinda stupid."
Bless him - more resilient than the one who is raising him.
