culturekitchen: Bobby Jindal's 10 ideas for health care reform

Remarkable - a fairly coherent set of ideas. I agree that the public option needs to be added, but I also think that the most important idea here is the reform of tax-free health savings accounts. If I could have put 100% of the money that I have wasted on health insurance so far in my career into a tax-free health savings plan that - instead of expiring at the end of every year and forcing me to spend or lose my money - worked like an IRA, then I wouldn't need anything but catastrophic insurance now. Imagine having $500K plus in a healthcare account that you had contributed to 100%. Imagine.

am gonna go over these in a separate post. i dont think health savings accounts should replace insurance --unless you meant it as a way of getting rid of health insurance altogether and just creating a UNiversal Health system like in communist Canada or France :D
