Salon is so confusing, sometimes it's spot on journalism, sometimes it's a certain writer's chest-bumping brain spew.

Exactly which of us are affected by what Elizabeth Edwards decides to do? Certainly not me, or any of the other blog writers/readers out there.

I was affected by his affair, because I whole-heartedly supported and believed in what he had to say. He could have done great things, if he hadn't pulled that nonsense. I can not abide a man who cheats on his wife. But it is up to NONE of us what Mrs. Edwards takes away from this, the disappointment I felt in losing a presidential candidate is nothing like losing one's faith in their husband.

Frankly, if she sticks with him (with or without forgiving him) and ensures she has the best medical care money can buy clear to the bitter end, I'm in her corner. If she leaves him, I'm in her corner. None of us know what goes on in their bedroom, and it's none of our business.

Thank you for your rebuttal to that Salon piece. THIS letter has a point, the Salon one? Only to spread rumors, lies, and hurt.

Be well Mrs Edwards, you deserve whatever you set your eyes on.

Re: An open letter to Elizabeth Edwards

It really is...she didn't do anything wrong in my eyes.

Re: An open letter to Elizabeth Edwards

THIS! : "It is a sad world in which Roman Polanski has more empathetic defenders than Elizabeth Edwards."

Re: An open letter to Elizabeth Edwards

oh! and, duh, thanks :)

Re: An open letter to Elizabeth Edwards

i know she's an avid blog reaer.i hope this link gets to her sooner than later. the hate heaped at her and John is just beyond pathetic. it's cruel. i mean, their situation is a hot mess but who are we to judge?

Re: An open letter to Elizabeth Edwards

nice to hear a compassionate, empathetic voice speaking out. it's amazing how cruel and judgmental the tone has been towards Elizabeth--as if people are actually mad at her for weathering a devastating, embarrassing betrayal in the midst of cancer and mid-life and not handling it how they think she should handle it. And for not being as nice or good of a person or wife as they think she should be. It's a sad world in which Roman Polanski has more empathetic defenders than Elizabeth Edwards.

Re: An open letter to Elizabeth Edwards

This is fabulous, Liza.
